The PNG Recruiter Limited is recruiting on behalf of a confidential client within the mechanical engineering and air conditioning industry for an experienced Workshop Operations Manager. This leadership position is responsible for managing workshop operations, driving productivity, maintaining quality standards, and leading a high-performing technical team in Port Moresby.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop.
- Plan and allocate workloads to achieve production targets.
- Oversee fabrication, installation support and workshop quality standards.
- Maintain workshop machinery, equipment, tools and facilities.
- Manage inventory, procurement and stock control.
- Monitor budgets, project performance and operational reporting.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Develop, mentor and supervise workshop personnel.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Year 10 education or equivalent.
- More than 10 years’ relevant workshop or operations management experience.
- Experience leading medium to large industrial or engineering workshops.
- Sheet Metal, Mechanical Fabrication or related trade background highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, planning and people management skills.
- Current Class 1 Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to obtain a Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medical.
