2024 National TVET Forum, 5th-6th Nov 2024, Stanley Hotel – Pom.

Something compelled us to buy today’s Post-Courier Online newspaper and BINGO we came across this advert inviting guests to attend the “IMPROVED TVET FOR EMPLOYMENT PROJECT”. We’re very passionate about this topic, hence we’ve just registered online to attend this event in person to hopefully air our views on it. We believe that TVET, Skilled Labor, Trades roles are NOTORIOUSLY UNDERESTIMATED IN PNG as a pivotal anchor of the PNG Economy, and do not get the attention it deserves to take this workforce and it’s stakeholders to the next level. This is one of the reasons why we started our organization, to empower our Trade/Skilled Workforce to win in the world of job seeking. #WokEmWok #ThPNGRecruiter

1st In-Person Training for The PNG Recruiter LTD

We had the privilege of delivering Modules 1 (“Cover Letters the Way Recruiters Like”) and 2 (“CVs the Way Recruiters Like”) from the Job Search Essentials for Papua New Guineans Online Course (Enroll here: https://lnkd.in/g5m74Swy) to over 20 employees, trainees, and graduates affiliated with the Metoreia Health Centre in Hanuabada, Port Moresby. The training spanned two days, on the 17th and 19th of September, and was hosted at the DT Global Pom Offices.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners at CareerTrackers PNG for this opportunity, marking The PNG Recruiter’s first in-person trial of our online course. Special appreciation to Mr. Bryan Earles for capturing some great moments of our director, Douglas Banimbi, BBM (HRM), Ass.Mem (PNGHRI), in action.
We hope our partnership with CTPNG has prepared participants for life after the completion of the Health Centre and we look forward to more collaborations and future training sessions!

Results from our recent survey on LinkedIn_22/09/2024

Gutpla dei PNG, Douglas from The PNG Recruiter here, hope you’ve been well.

So we made a survey to find you, our followers, How much would you pay to attend an in-person workshop based on our “Jobsearch Essentials for Papua New Guineans” Online Course.

LEARN ABOUT OUR JOBSEARCH ESSENTIALS FOR PAPUA NEW GUINEANS ONLINE COURSE HERE: https://courses.reelae.com/courses/job-search-essentials-for-papua-new-guineans/?v=322b26af01d5

We posted the survey last Sunday, 15th of September and it ended today 22nd of September. Here are the results we collected:

Image 1: Results from Survey on How much would you pay to attend an in-person workshop based on our “Jobsearch Essentials for Papua New Guineans” Online Course.

RESULTS

A total of 165 votes were collected, where voters were posed the question of “How much would you pay to attend an in-person workshop based on our “Jobsearch Essentials for Papua New Guineans” Online Course.” There were then 4 answers (in multiple choice fashion) for voters to choose which answer the above question resonated well with them. They were as follows:

  1. K100?
  2. K80?
  3. K50?
  4. Pay K39 for the Online Course?

From the 4 multiple choice answers to the question above, here are the number of votes each choice got:

  1. K100: 27%
  2. K80: 4%
  3. K50: 23%
  4. Pay K39 for Online Course: 47%

Thus, the most voted choice out of the 4 multiple choice answers was choice 4, Pay K39 for Online Course.

ISSUE

The issue we found from the survey, is that more people would rather pay for the online course at K39, but so far only 3 people have enrolled for our JOBSEARCH ESSENTIALS FOR PAPUA NEW GUINEANS Online Course. This is one of the reasons why we created this survey, to find out why people are not enrolling for our online course also. If there are more people who want to pay K39 for the online course, why aren’t they actually enrolling to it? We’ll definitely do another survey to get deep into the exact reasons.

INTERPRETATIONS OF RESULTS

Apart from the above issue identified, we’ve come to the conclusion on the actual purpose of the survey, which is to identify How much would you pay to attend an in-person workshop based on our “Jobsearch Essentials for Papua New Guineans” Online Course. Here are our recommendations:

  1. The 2nd highest voted multiple choice answer was K100, which meant 27% of voters were content with paying K100 to attend a Jobsearch Essentials for Papua New Guineans Course. These voters are people who respect the effort we are putting into teaching this information, and would like to learn in a conducive environment such as a conference room with offering food and beverages, rest room facilities, air conditioning made available, tables, chairs, projectors, etc.
  2. From the lesser voted multiple choice answers (2 & 3), they indicate that a small number of voters are looking for affordable ways to obtain/learn the information the course offers only.
https://thepngrecruiter.com/2024/08/15/jobsearch-essentials-for-papua-new-guineans-youtube-course-modules-on-sale/

CONCLUSION

We’ve come to the conclusion that from the survey results, we find that voters want to learn the information this course offers and are keen on paying a sufficient amount to learning in-person, in a conducive environment, as this would require a fair amount to afford, but are also conscious of the cost the in-person course format can incur.

Big thanks to you all who took time out to cast your votes, it’s given us a fair understanding what we need to do, in terms of pricing our attendance fees in the future for our in-person workshops. We’ll definitely let you know when we’re ready to offer you all our in-person workshop.

Until next time…. #WokEmWok #ThePNGRecruiter

We believe the course is a systematic process for anyone looking to learn important, real world and current skills, inside information from PNG’s recruitment industry on how to nail any job opportunity in Papua New Guinea, and will continue to find ways getting the message across to our people who need these knowledge and increase their confidence levels enough to withstand the rigors of job hunting in Papua New Guinea.

CHECK OUT THE JOB SEARCH ESSENTIALS FOR PAPUA NEW GUINEANS COURSE MODULES HERE ON THIS LINK BELOW:

One way we’d like to give our people access to this information is through the conventional way of IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS but most venues these days are pricey and would need a significant amount of financial capital for any SME to afford.

We’d like to ask our audience the following questions:

  1. WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING AN IN-PERSON WORKSHOP FOR THE JOBSEARCH ESSENTIALS FOR PAPUA NEW GUINEANS COURSE?
  2. IF YES, WHAT AMOUNT WOULD YOU BE CONTENT WITH SPENDING TO ATTEND SUCH A WORKSHOP?
  3. AND WHY WOULD YOU PREFER TO SPEND THAT AMOUNT TO ATTEND THE WORKSHOP?

If you can comment below your answers or email them to us via thepngrecruiter@gmail.com with the heading “Why I would spend this amount to attend your course” or similar, that would be much appreciated, as we’d like to understand you, our audience, on what you would like from us going forward regarding in-person workshops on the course we created for you.

Thank you for your time, we appreciate all your support so far and we’ll continue to help wherever we can to EMPOWER YOU TO WIN IN THE WORLD OF JOBSEEKING.

10 Best Ways the Youth of Papua New Guinea Can Create Their Own Jobs

In light of Prime Minister James Marape’s recent call for youths to create their own employment (Link to news article:https://www.postcourier.com.pg/uyep-create-jobs-for-youth/ , article image take from this too) , it is essential to explore practical ways the young people of Papua New Guinea can generate their own job opportunities. With the job market limited, particularly for university graduates, self-employment and entrepreneurship become viable paths. Here are ten ways PNG youth can take charge of their futures:

1. **Start a Small Business**: From retail to services, small businesses can cater to local needs. E.g, selling Phone Credits, food at schools, water at sports events, etc.

2. **Embrace Agriculture**: Farming and agriculture are untapped sectors with enormous potential for local and export markets.

3. **Handicrafts and Traditional Arts**: PNG’s rich culture can be a source of income through arts and crafts sold to tourists.

4. **Technology and Innovation**: Youth can leverage technology to offer services such as web development, digital marketing, or app development. E.g, creating and selling an online course on a topic of interest of yours online on the ReeLae online learning platform (Link to site: https://courses.reelae.com/?v=322b26af01d5).

5. **Freelance Services**: Skills in graphic design, writing, or virtual assistance can be monetized through freelance platforms.

LEARN ABOUT OUR JOBSEARCH ESSENTIALS FOR PAPUA NEW GUINEANS ONLINE COURSE HERE: https://courses.reelae.com/courses/job-search-essentials-for-papua-new-guineans/?v=322b26af01d5

6. **Tourism Initiatives**: Creating unique local tours or accommodations can attract both local and international visitors.

7. **Food and Catering Services**: There’s always a demand for food, and catering can start small and grow as clientele increases.

8. **Youth Cooperatives**: Group efforts in sectors like farming or fishing can lead to shared success. Cleaning around your neighbourhoods, towns is another form of this.

9. **Education and Training**: Offering tutoring services or vocational training in specific skills can address local educational needs.

10. **Social Entrepreneurship**: Addressing social issues while making a profit, such as recycling or community health initiatives, can also create jobs.

By exploring these opportunities, the youth of Papua New Guinea can not only secure their own futures but also contribute to the nation’s economic growth.

Thanks for reading and let us know if you have any questions on this topic. #WokEmWok #ThePNGRecruiter
